Welcome to the website for Severn Models!
Severn Models create model kits in etched brass, ideal for model railway builders, wargames, tabletop games and diorama builders, and now introducing kits for dollshouse miniatures.
The brand was launched following a crowd funding venture on Kickstarter, so a special thanks to you if you joined that project, this page would not exist without you!
Kits available for : N, OO, O & garden railways, 10mm & 12mm wargames buildings & scenery, dioramas, dolls house models or just as collectables!
Check out the new kits just launched - there are now models for N, OO and O gauge layouts, plus larger scale models for the dollshouse miniaturist, and the iconic Iron Bridge in the special models section!
Coronavirus Update 24th March 2020 :
Mail order either online or by post currently continues, though be aware it is possible our postal service may also be impacted with reduced capacity at some point, and deliveries may take a bit longer though I am sure they will do all they can to keep the post moving. Much International mail is still working, though they advise delivery will take longer due to reduced airmail flights. In order to minimise my own time spent in public places, kit orders will now only be sent out on two days per week, so delivery may take an extra day or two compared to the previous level of dispatch and I thank you for your patience in awating delivery.
The etching manufacturing has today been suspended to protect their employees and local community, which is completely understandable in these difficult times. There are reasonable numbers of kits in stock as of today, and the stock levels indicated by the website will tell you if something is getting low or is out of stock. Orders will still be accepted for out-of-stock items, but they will go on back order for delivery once manufacturing resumes.
With the current situation, many of the approaching model exhibitions will be cancelled for the well being of all of us. Some are looking for another date later in this year, while for others we can look forward to them in 2021. The Exhibition Calendar page will be updated as information comes in.
On a more personal level, please look after yourself and heed the government health advice and stay at home. We must be united in this to protect our NHS from being swamped with high dependency cases and help save the lives of thousands of people.
Making models and being creative has significant mental health benefits, so I encourage everyone to use some of their time at home in this way. Also keep in touch with other modellers - the internet is a great way to do this with things like the BRM forums hosting a huge variety of topics, projects and discussions. Youtube has some excellent videos to watch on all aspects of model making too. If you know a modeller who does not use the internet they might be feeling rather more cut-off than the rest of us, so give them a call on the phone and have a chat about your current projects.
